I've tried scores of rose perfumes and this is one of the best. Rose can be very insipid and cloying. This is not that-- it's complex and almost dark. It's a cool shaded spot on a hot summer's day.

The name of the scent meaning : The Shadow on the Water.
It smells greeny and sweet herbally aromatic. The smell have note of a cool Bulgarian rose and blackcurrant as well as as amber, musk, and myrrh which make it deep, cool and fresh at the same time. It is like riverside garden, or even a wet moist cut grass in the garden after the rain in a herbal way.
It is one of the smell that the first and second time it smells different. At first it will smells more florally but once it settle into the skin, here come the berries.
The smells last long as it pretty much the same on me at the very end of the day. You'll either love or hate the perfume so I suggest smell them in store first.
Loving it so much, diptyque always have a very unique and well made scent so check them out.
