With its gently tapered spiral dome head, this brush is perfect for application of powder and colour. Its multi-functional design is excellent for defining cheekbones, highlighting the complexion, as well as blending and diffusing colour on or around the eye area. The handle of the Yachiyo brush is hand-spun with black wisteria to preserve its unique traditional character.

How to apply

To keep your brush in top condition, wash the tips of the bristles in warm soapy water, and leave in a well ventilated area to dry.

Wow! Gorgeous soft goat hair brush, light with a nice medium-length handle. The lovely domed shape of the brush means it is superb for contouring - you can apply powder from the side of the brush or the top - I use the side of the dome for bronzing and the tip for bronzing the top of my forehead into the hairline and for adding blush and highlighter blush. It's not a full, solid, bulky brush so it is very flexible and doesn't pick up too much powder, allowing you to control and build colour rather than depositing horrifying dark blobs. By holding the handle close to the bulge or out at the thin end you can also alter how you control the brush. It does look a little odd, but the black wisteria wrapping gives a really good grip. Haven't had it for long but it has instantly become my favourite brush. 03 March 2013
